The Vestige serves private collectors (BtoC) as well as professionals — interior architects, decorators, hotels and brands (BtoB).

What is the connection between The Vestige and Monde Singulier?
The Vestige is a platform operated by Monde Singulier, a Paris-based curatorial studio specialising in design, art direction and cultural strategy. The Monde Singulier team selects, authenticates and documents every piece listed on the platform.

How are the pieces selected?
Every piece offered on The Vestige goes through a curatorial selection process. We favour vintage pieces in good condition, with verifiable provenance, that carry aesthetic or historical significance. Our team assesses the condition, authenticity and relevance of each object before it goes live.

What types of pieces can I find on The Vestige?
You will find vintage furniture (armchairs, tables, consoles, shelving), lighting (table lamps, pendant lights, sconces), ceramics, glassware, decorative objects and works of art. The pieces span a wide range of styles and periods — from mid-century modernist design to more recent pieces that have become iconic.

Buying on The Vestige

How do I place an order?

Are the pieces one-of-a-kind?
Yes. Each vintage piece is by nature unique or available in very limited quantities. Once sold, it is no longer available. We recommend acting quickly if a piece catches your eye.

Are the listed prices negotiable?
Prices are set based on the condition, rarity and market value of each piece. For certain purchases or as part of a professional project (multiple acquisitions, interior fit-out), please contact us directly to discuss terms.

Can I buy as a professional (BtoB)?

Do you offer reservations or holds?

Condition & Authenticity

What condition are the pieces in?
Each product listing precisely describes the condition of the piece: normal age-related wear, any restorations, visible imperfections. We photograph every object from multiple angles and flag any significant details. Vintage pieces naturally bear traces of use that speak to their history — that is part of their charm.

Are the pieces authentic?
Yes. Our team verifies the provenance and authenticity of every piece before it is listed for sale. We work from original markings, labels, documentation and our expertise to guarantee the authenticity of each object.

Is a certificate or documentation provided?
Where available, we provide all documentation attesting to the origin and provenance of the piece (original invoices, certificates, manufacturer labels, ownership history). For pieces of significant value, a certificate of authenticity may be issued by Monde Singulier.

Have the pieces been restored?
Some pieces may have undergone professional restoration to preserve their integrity. Any restoration is systematically mentioned in the product description. We can also arrange restoration on request prior to delivery, on a quote basis.

Payment

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept payment by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and bank transfer. For high-value acquisitions, payment by bank transfer is recommended.

Is the payment secure?
Yes. All transactions on The Vestige are secured by SSL encryption. Your banking details are never stored on our servers.

Can I pay in instalments?

Do the prices include VAT?
Prices displayed are inclusive of VAT for private customers within the European Union. As second-hand items, they are subject to the margin scheme where applicable. For professional purchases (intra-EU or outside the EU), specific conditions may apply. Contact us for a tailored quote.

Shipping & Delivery

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping costs and delivery times vary depending on the destination, dimensions, weight and fragility of the piece. A personalised shipping quote will be provided before you finalise your order.

How are the pieces packaged?
Each piece is carefully packaged by professionals specialising in the transport of art objects and furniture. We use appropriate protective materials (custom-built wooden crates, foam, moving blankets, tissue paper) to ensure delivery in perfect condition.

What are the delivery times?
Delivery times vary depending on the piece and destination. As a general guide, allow 5 to 15 working days for mainland France and 10 to 30 working days for international deliveries. Bulky items (furniture) may require additional time. A precise timeline will be provided upon order confirmation.

Can I arrange my own transport?
Yes. If you wish to use your own carrier or collect the piece from our warehouse, we can accommodate. Contact us to arrange the details.

Who covers customs duties for deliveries outside the EU?
Any customs duties, import taxes and local charges are the responsibility of the buyer. These fees vary by destination country and are not included in the sale price.

Returns & Claims

Can I return a piece?
In accordance with applicable legislation, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of receipt for online purchases (BtoC). The piece must be returned in its original condition, undamaged and in its original packaging. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Due to the unique nature of vintage pieces, we encourage you to contact us before purchasing if you have any doubts.

What should I do if the piece arrives damaged?
If you notice any damage upon delivery, please make sure to note reservations with the carrier at the time of receipt, then contact us within 48 hours at contact@monde-singulier.com with photos of the damage. We will handle your claim as quickly as possible.

What if the piece does not match the description?
If you believe the piece received does not match its description on the website (condition, dimensions, characteristics), contact us within 48 hours of receipt with photos. We will review your request and propose an appropriate solution (return, partial or full refund).

Are the pieces insured during transport?
Yes. All shipments arranged by The Vestige are covered by transport insurance for the full value of the piece.

Selling on The Vestige

Can I sell a piece on The Vestige?
The Vestige operates on a curatorial selection model. If you own a vintage design piece that you wish to resell, send us photos and a description at contact@monde-singulier.com. Our team will assess the piece and get back to you if it fits our selection.

What are the criteria for a piece to be accepted?
We look for vintage design pieces in good condition, by recognised designers or manufacturers, with documented provenance where possible. Pieces must have aesthetic, historical or collectible interest. We do not accept reproductions or counterfeits.

How is the sale price determined?
The price is set jointly between the seller and The Vestige team, taking into account the condition of the piece, its rarity, its market value and current trends in vintage design.

What are the fees for sellers?
A commission is deducted from the final sale price. The exact terms will be communicated when your piece is taken on. Contact us to learn more.

Do you offer buying advice?
Yes. Our curatorial team can help you find and select vintage pieces suited to your interior or professional project. We offer a personalised advisory service on request.

Can you source specific pieces?

Do you offer restoration services?
In partnership with specialised craftsmen, we can arrange the restoration of vintage pieces — reupholstery, relacquering, structural repair. This service is available on a quote basis.

Do you offer installation or special delivery services?
For bulky pieces or those requiring specific installation (assembly, wall mounting), we can arrange on-site setup in collaboration with professionals. This service is available on a quote basis.
