Süe & Mare

Louis Süe (1875-1968) and André Mare (1885-1932) founded the Compagnie des Arts Français in Paris in 1919. The firm produced furniture, lighting, textiles and complete interiors in a rich, classically inspired Art Deco style, drawing on the Louis-Philippe and Restoration traditions. They exhibited prominently at the 1925 Paris Exposition. Collectors seek their giltwood, marquetry and lacquered pieces for their opulence and craftsmanship.
