Robin Day
Robin Day (1915-2010) was a British furniture designer who worked for decades with the manufacturer Hille. His Polyprop chair (1963), in injection-moulded polypropylene, became one of the most widely produced chairs in the world. He also designed seating for the Royal Festival Hall. Working in plywood, steel and plastics, he championed good design for everyday use. Collectors seek his early Hille pieces in original condition.
