Pierre Cardin

French couturier born in Italy (1922-2020), Pierre Cardin applied the vocabulary of his futuristic fashion to furniture in the late 1970s with his Sculptures Utilitaires. These cabinets, tables and chests in lacquered wood feature stacked, rounded shapes and bold colour, produced in limited numbers. They are collected as rare expressions of fashion and design meeting, and pieces with the Cardin signature are sought after.
