Philippe Starck

French designer born in 1949, Philippe Starck gained international fame in the early 1980s with the private apartments of President Mitterrand at the Élysée Palace and the Café Costes in Paris. He went on to design hotels, industrial products and furniture for Driade, Kartell, Baleri and others, and objects such as the Juicy Salif for Alessi. Collectors focus on his early 1980s pieces and limited productions.
