Philippe Jean

French designer Philippe Jean (1931-1987) worked in the 1970s, producing furniture and lighting in Lucite and chromed steel. His tables, desks and lamps combine clear or smoked acrylic with polished metal in precise, geometric forms, characteristic of French design of that decade. Collectors look for pieces in undamaged acrylic with bright chrome, which reveal his sense of transparency and structure.
