Peter Behrens

German architect and designer Peter Behrens (1868-1940) was a founding figure of modern industrial design. After his early work at the Darmstadt artists' colony, he became artistic consultant to AEG in 1907, designing its buildings, logos, electric kettles, fans and lamps. He was a founding member of the Deutscher Werkbund, and Gropius, Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier worked in his office. Collectors look for his AEG products and early Jugendstil pieces.
