Mariyo Yagi

Mariyo Yagi, born in 1948, is a Japanese artist and designer who worked in Italy early in her career, designing furniture and lighting in the 1970s. Some of her designs have been reissued by the Bologna editor Paradisoterrestre. She later became known for large-scale rope sculptures and installations. Collectors appreciate her original design pieces for their sculptural simplicity and their dialogue between Japanese sensibility and Italian design culture.
