Louis Süe

French architect and decorator Louis Süe (1875-1968) was a founder of Art Deco. In 1919 he established the Compagnie des Arts Français with the painter André Mare, creating complete interiors and furniture that reinterpreted the French classical tradition in generous, rounded forms and rich materials. Süe et Mare exhibited prominently at the 1925 Paris Exposition. Collectors seek documented pieces from the Compagnie des Arts Français, particularly seating and cabinets.
