Louis Sognot

Louis Sognot (1892-1970) was a French designer and decorator who worked at Primavera, the workshop of the Printemps department store, before developing his own practice. A member of the Union des Artistes Modernes, he used chromed metal, glass and exotic woods, and designed rattan furniture with Charlotte Alix and later on his own. Collectors seek his rattan pieces of the 1950s and his modernist furniture of the 1930s.
