Louis Kalff
Dutch designer Louis Kalff (1897-1976) spent his career at Philips in Eindhoven, where he shaped the company's visual identity, including its logo, and directed the design of radios, lamps and advertising. His lighting of the 1950s, in brass, lacquered metal and glass, balances modernist restraint with elegant, sometimes playful forms. Collectors look for his Philips floor and table lamps and pendants from that decade with original shades and finishes.
