Jules Leleu
French cabinetmaker and decorator (1883-1961), originally from Boulogne-sur-Mer, who moved to Paris in 1924 and founded Maison Leleu. His Art Deco furniture uses macassar ebony, rosewood, shagreen and ivory or mother-of-pearl inlay in balanced, classical forms. He contributed to the liner Normandie, and the firm continued under his children. Collectors seek stamped pieces and documented commissions.
