Joe Colombo

Joe Colombo (1930-1971) was an Italian designer from Milan who began as a painter and sculptor before turning to design in the early 1960s. In a short career he produced the Elda armchair, the Universale chair for Kartell, the Boby trolley and many lamps, while imagining complete living systems for the future. His work uses plastics and modular forms with rare inventiveness. Collectors seek early productions of his key designs.
