H. Fillekes

Dutch designer H. Fillekes worked in the 1950s for Artifort, the Maastricht furniture maker that became a leading name in European modernism. His armchairs and lounge chairs combine sculpted wooden frames with generous, softly shaped upholstery, in the relaxed and optimistic style of the postwar years. Collectors look for pieces with original Artifort labels and frames in good condition, often reupholstered in period-appropriate fabrics.
