Giuseppe Scapinelli
Giuseppe Scapinelli was an Italian-born designer who worked in São Paulo, where he became a significant figure of Brazilian mid-century modernism. From the 1950s onwards he designed furniture in native hardwoods such as jacaranda and caviúna, often with sculptural, tapering legs and refined joinery. His work blends Italian elegance with Brazilian materials. Collectors value his cabinets, tables and seating for their graceful lines and the quality of their timber.
