Gilles Derain

French designer Gilles Derain founded the lighting company Lumen Center in Paris in the 1970s and designed much of its collection. His lamps and floor lights, in lacquered metal and glass, pursue a graphic and sculptural clarity that captures the spirit of French design in the 1970s and 1980s. Collectors look for original Lumen Center pieces in good condition, with their period finishes and fittings intact.
