Gilbert Valentin

Gilbert Valentin (1928-2001) was a French ceramist who founded the Les Archanges workshop in Vallauris in the early 1950s. His work includes vases, pitchers, plates and small sculptures with stylised figures, animals and birds, often in matte glazes with sgraffito details. He belongs to the lively postwar studio ceramics scene of Vallauris. Collectors seek signed pieces with a clear graphic decoration and good glaze condition.
