Gilbert Poillerat
French ironworker and designer (1902-1988), trained at the École Boulle and in the workshop of Edgar Brandt. From 1927 he directed the art ironwork of Baudet, Donon et Roussel, and he collaborated with decorators such as Jacques Adnet and Jean-Charles Moreux. His wrought iron furniture, gates, lighting and mirrors, often gilt, combine neoclassical order with supple scrolls, and are among the most refined of their period.
