Gerhard Liebenthron

Gerhard Liebenthron was a German studio ceramist based in Bremen. His vases, bowls and sculptural vessels are thrown and assembled in stoneware, often with textured surfaces, applied elements and earthy or metallic glazes. His pieces sit within the tradition of West German studio pottery of the second half of the twentieth century. Collectors appreciate the tactile richness of his surfaces and the architectural quality of his larger vessels.
