Georges Jouve
Georges Jouve (1910-1964) was a French ceramist who turned to pottery during the Second World War, working in Dieulefit before settling in Paris and later Aix en Provence. His vases, lamps, mirrors and sculptures show organic, often asymmetrical forms under deep black, white or yellow glazes. He collaborated with decorators such as Jacques Adnet. Collectors prize signed pieces with a strong silhouette and flawless glaze.
