Fratelli Levaggi

Fratelli Levaggi is a family workshop in Chiavari, on the Ligurian coast, dedicated to the Chiavari chair, or chiavarina, a light and resilient chair made in the town since the nineteenth century. Its chairs use slender turned frames in cherry, beech or ash with hand-woven cane or straw seats. Mid-century examples are valued for their extraordinary lightness, careful joinery and the unbroken artisanal tradition they represent.
