Francis Jourdain
Francis Jourdain (1876-1958) was a French painter, decorator and furniture designer, son of the architect Frantz Jourdain. A founding member of the Salon d'Automne in 1903, he turned to decoration and promoted simple, rational furniture meant for everyday life. He later joined the Union des Artistes Modernes. His pieces, often in painted or natural wood with plain surfaces and practical storage, interest collectors of early French modernism.
