Cesare Lacca
Italian designer Cesare Lacca was active in the 1950s, when he produced a series of small, elegant pieces of furniture, notably bar trolleys, magazine racks and side tables, some of them edited by Cassina. His work combines wood with brass, glass and bent metal in light, precise constructions typical of postwar Italian design. Collectors look for pieces with their original brass fittings and glass shelves, which give his trolleys their refined, almost jewellery-like quality.
