Carlo Hauner & Martin Eisler
Italian designer Carlo Hauner (1927-1997) and Austrian-born Martin Eisler (1913-1977) worked together in São Paulo, where they founded the furniture company Forma in the mid-1950s. Their designs, including the Reversível armchair, combine jacaranda and other Brazilian woods with slender metal frames and a light, graphic line. Forma later produced Knoll designs under licence in Brazil. Collectors seek early Forma pieces in jacaranda with original construction and upholstery.
