Bolesław Danikowski

Bolesław Danikowski (1928-1979) was a Polish-born ceramist and sculptor. His work includes ceramic reliefs, sculptural figures and decorative pieces in which stylised, sometimes regal characters emerge from textured, richly glazed surfaces. The pieces balance abstraction with a naive figurative charm typical of mid-century studio ceramics. Collectors appreciate his reliefs and figures for their graphic compositions and the depth of their glazes, and complete, undamaged examples are particularly sought after.
