Anna Castelli Ferrieri
Anna Castelli Ferrieri (1918-2006) was an Italian architect and designer, among the first women to graduate in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano. With her husband Giulio Castelli she founded Kartell in 1949 and later served as its art director. Her Componibili storage units in injection-moulded plastic remain in continuous production. Collectors value her early Kartell pieces for their clean geometry and the serious attention she gave to industrial plastic.
