Albano Poli

Italian designer Albano Poli founded Poliarte in Verona, a workshop devoted to handmade glass lighting. Through the 1960s and 1970s the firm produced sconces, table lamps and chandeliers in thick, often coloured glass, cut and assembled by hand and mounted on simple metal frames. Collectors value the depth of colour and the sculptural weight of the glass, and seek out complete, undamaged pieces from the 1970s production with their original fittings.
