Achille Castiglioni

Italian architect and designer (1918-2002) who worked in Milan with his brothers Livio and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. Drawing on the logic of the readymade, he turned everyday components into lasting designs such as the Arco and Taccia lamps for Flos and the Mezzadro and Sella stools for Zanotta. Collectors look for early production pieces with original fittings and period markings, which reveal the wit and economy behind each object.
