Drouet & Pierre Adrien Ekman

This attribution brings together the French decorator René Drouet and Pierre Adrien Ekman, whose names are associated with a lacquered Art Deco cabinet dated 1938. Drouet worked in the refined, late Art Deco and neoclassical taste of the 1930s and 1940s, and the pieces attributed to this pairing show deep lacquer surfaces and precise, restrained forms. Collectors look for pieces with documented attribution and well-preserved lacquer, which is central to their value.

Unique Art deco storage cabinet in dark green lacquer made in 1938 from a collaboration between René Drouet and Pierre Adrien Ekman.
