The piece is composed of an assemblage of angular shaped metal pieces, patinated with brass and bronze coating, assembled to create an highly expressive interplay of volumes and shadows, characteristic of the artist’s work. The composition, raw yet very balanced, evokes a mineral and organic architecture in which each element appears precisely interlocked. The surface treatment, marked by a warm and nuanced patina, emphasizes the raw strength and material presence of the object. Signed by the artist, this wall light is electrified and preserved in very fine original condition. Positioned halfway between wall sculpture and lighting fixture, it stands as a strong decorative work, both graphic and timeless, bearing witness to a free and deeply sensitive approach to metal sculpture.

Auguste Fix (1925–2000) was a singular artist and a pioneer of post-war french mountaineering, closely associated with major figures such as Pierre Allain, René Ferlet and Guido Magnone. A climber of the highest level, he notably took part in the first ascent of the west face of the Aiguille de Blaitière in 1948, before a serious accident prematurely ended his alpinist career. Forced to reinvent himself, he then turned to metal sculpture, producing works of remarkable strength and originality. Deeply informed by his love of the mountains, his work translates the rhythms, textures and tensions of alpine landscapes into raw metal. From the 1960s onward, his works were presented in Parisian galleries alongside artists of the artisanal avant-garde. Today, his works are rare and recognized for their strength and the singularity of their plastic expression.

Dimensions :

Width : 55 cm
Depth : 21 cm
Height : 139 cm
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1037/6236/2709/files/Auguste_fix_patinated_metal_wall_light_sculpture_1970_1_d4251784-efaa-4d19-a388-0a1bf678cb86.jpg?v=1775560187
french-modernist-walnut-boat-bar-table-nickel-plated-1930s
French modernist walnut boat bar table nickel-plated 1930s

This is a nice nickel-plated bar table produced in France in the 1930s. In 2002, a solo exhibition of his works was held at the Musée Guimet Paris and at the Shiseido Foundation Tokyo.

Dimensions :

Width : 119 cm
Depth : 5 cm
Height : 89 cm

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1037/6236/2709/files/TOCOang_Haywen_diptych_ink_on_paper_1975_1_a563c8c6-dce1-4400-866a-171d803a3f10.jpg?v=1775572933
pair-of-french-art-deco-modernist-silver-plated-trays-1940s
Pair of French Art deco modernist silver-plated trays 1940s

This is a beautiful pair of Art Deco large silvered serving trays produced in France in the early 1940s, rectangular modernist shaped.

Dimensions: Height: 27.96 in (71 cm), Width: 14.57 in (37 cm), Depth: 4.73 in (12 cm)

Materials: Oak, Stainless Steel

Style: Modern

Origin: France

Period: 1970-1979

Condition: Good

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1037/6236/2709/files/f_49873372_1777378300382_bg_processed.jpg?v=1777510859
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1037/6236/2709/collections/Alain_Chervet_brass_bronze_cactus_parrot_console_table_1989_1.webp?v=1774522830
